Best Buy Webroot Renewal

If you have a Windows 10 or Windows 11 PC, I highly recommend no third party antivirus. If you currently have Webroot from Best Buy and are up for renewal, my advice is to cancel it. Both Windows 10 and Windows 11 have antivirus and firewall already installed.

I had one for $99.99, two minutes on hold turns out was a renewal for Office 365 I bought through Best Buy with the computer. Too bad it does not say that on the charge, nor do they email me with the charge. Stupid on their part, I almost reported it to the bank as fraudulent.

Today I was charged 69.99 today on my credit card - with the Best Buy Richmond, MN info. After accusing my kids of using my credit card, I realized I had been charged for an auto renewal for my Office 365. My Best Buy email from one year ago when I purchased Office 365 stated I would be contacted by email PRIOR to an auto renewal. That did not happen. I just received an email from Best Buy this morning telling me it had already been renewed. Suckers. I called Best Buy and they refunded the charge since I did not want to renew. You can also go onto your Best Buy account and turn off auto renewal so this doesn't happen.

Saw this and knew I'd charged something to my card around this amount but couldn't remember what. As another poster said....it was my Webroot antivirus renewal which was bought through geek squad, so shows up as Best Buy on the card, rather than webroot. Phew.

They charged me for someone else's renewal, $ 205.11, they don't play well with others, contacting my bank to have disputed, I had to go back into my junk mail and found that someone named Larry used my credit card number, so mad

Purchase made for $52.99 without my authorization I live in the state of Florida and have not used to card for any purchases regarding Best Buy I need this to be refunded and the charges to be stopped. Now a police report has to be filed, calling the bank to stop purchase . This needs to be cancelled and refunded to my account ASAP . It seems this is a best buy.com purchase.

Total Tech Support cannot be returned, but it can be canceled. You can cancel your membership by calling 1-888-BEST BUY (1-888-237-8289) or you can opt out of auto-renewal by managing your subscriptions on your BestBuy.com profile. You will not be able to cancel your membership at a Best Buy store.

You have the option to stop receiving email receipts for your subscription renewals. If you have opted out, you can still view your receipts in your account under Purchase History. To manage receipts or to opt in again, go to Account Settings."

I too received one of these scam messages from the email quickbooks@notifications x*x for a $299 Greek Sq renewal. The contact phone number was not the Best buy authorized 800 or 888 phone number, and neither was the email address a valid Best Buy address. Beware; delete all emails and do not open attachments or call the 800 numbers you received via email or text. Do not give out any sensitive information via email, cell phones, or landline phones, to anyone.

This is a confirmation email for the auto-renewal/upgrade of online Silver tech Support (3-year Plan 1 pc, peripherals with 2 annual on-site services) along with payment protection. We have authorized your account with $499.49 successfully

I then google searched "best buy geek squad auto renewal email"..and found its a known issue. So im hoping I wont be debited nearly $300 for this service (from my savings account) which, them saying that, was the tip off to cause me suspicion that this was a phishing scam...because I dont use my savings account nobody has it! So whoever is writing these scam emails, based on all the other ones I saw people post, writes it different every time..same message..

I got that same email yesterday fir annual support renewal for $346.00 as well it came from a gmail account order serial #was also Z94-641892683 and the phone number used was to contact to cancel or for help was 1-800-276-1698. I contacted geek squad through their real number. I dod not even have an account or service with them and they said their order number does not begin with ZF. They even used my full name. They told me it was a scam. So I googled and found this among other similar links to similar scams.

I also have a complaint. I was unable to download a renewal. Called them, some tech person came onto my computer afer giving him permission. Did a super scan(scam) saying I had some virus, and it would cost $250 or $399 . I believe this is a major scam, I had use webroot many years. No More.

Wow, you all had RIDICULOUS complaints. I've had Webroot for 4 years now. Eight days ago I received a notice saying my subscription would be renewed in ten days. Today, I got online, chatted with a professional and he sent me the link to get off the automatic renewal process. Put my serial number in, the automatic renewal came off my web console in less than 2 minutes. Done. The things the people above are complaining about lead me to believe they are sharing the SAME brain cells... Get into the year 2015 people... Everything is electronic. 041b061a72
