The NHL on TNT is, as its name indicates, carried by TNT. The cable channel is available on every major cable and satellite pay-TV provider. In addition, live TV streaming services like DirecTV Stream, Hulu with Live TV, Sling TV and YouTube TV all provide live viewing of TNT through at least one of the available subscription packages.

How to stream NHL on TNT

New for this season, fans are going to have the ability to stream NHL on TNT through the Max streaming platform.

Warner Bros. Discovery previously announced that it is making its B/R Sports Add-On tier for Max free to all Max subscribers starting in October and running through February 29, 2024. After that, it will cost subscribers an extra $9.99 per month to keep live sports as an option for the streaming service.

How to watch NHL on TNT from anywhere

Another option that allows viewers to watch a specific broadcast from anywhere is a virtual private network, also known as a VPN. A VPN is designed to route network traffic through a specific set of servers in a specific country, allowing viewers to watch content on an encrypted feed over a computer.

NHL on TNT commentators

NHL on TNT's hockey coverage is Emmy nominated, with big names in studio previewing and reacting to the games during intermissions and post-game, and with their primary commentators.

The NHL on TNT studio is lead by host Liam McHugh and features Wayne Gretzky, Paul Bissonnette, Anson Carter and Henrik Lundqvist as its studio analysts.

The main announcing team is led by play-by-play commentator Kenny Albert and game analyst Eddie Olczyk. The pair will have a new ice level analyst for this season, former NHL goaltender Brian Boucher.

Additional NHL on TNT commentators include play-by-play announcer Brendan Burke, analysts Darren Pang and Jennifer Botterill and reporters Jackie Redmond and Tarik El-Bashir.

First, the Vegas Golden Knights will host the Seattle Kraken on opening night. The Golden Knights, who won a Stanley Cup title in their sixth season, will celebrate the franchise's first championship by raising a banner before the game at Las Vegas' T-Mobile Arena.

Then the two will meet in the annual outdoor Winter Classic game on New Year's Day at Seattle's T-Mobile Park, home of Major League Baseball's Mariners. The NHL regular season will run from Oct. 10 to April 18 and includes four outdoor games and four games in Europe.

The defending champion Golden Knights have been to the playoffs in all but one season while the Kraken improved by 40 points to reach the postseason in their second season.

The Hall of Fame induction is Nov. 13 in Toronto. Tom Barrasso, Henrik Lundqvist, Caroline Ouellette, Pierre Turgeon and Mike Vernon will be inducted in the player category. Ken Hitchcock and the late Pierre Lacroix were elected in the builder category.

The 2023-24 NHL Rulebook doesn't have any major changes from the 2022-23 edition, but here are two notable tweaks that made it into the official rule book this year, as first reported by Scouting the Refs.

If your team was hurt by a missed puck-in-the netting call prior to last season, we have good news— unless you dislike coach's challenges, in which case, get ready for more pauses in play.

A coach's ability to challenge a puck-in-the netting call now officially extends to any puck put above the glass before scoring a goal, no matter which team made the last play.

That rule was already in effect, as Colorado Avalanche fans will remember from four years ago, when the rule was applied on a coach's challenge.

In Game 7 of the 2019 second round, the San Jose Sharks successfully challenged a goal for being offsides because Gabriel Landeskog was still on the ice on the other side of the blue line as he prepared to enter the bench following a line change.
